Clogged Drain – Troubleshooting
To fix a clogged drain, you can try the following steps:
- Use a plunger to forcefully push down and pull up on the clog. Make sure to create a tight seal around the opening of the drain before plunging.
- If the plunger doesn’t work, try using a drain snake, also known as an auger. This tool has a long, flexible cable with a small auger on the end that can be inserted into the drain to break up and remove the clog.
- You can also try using a mixture of baking soda and vinegar to dissolve the clog. First, pour 1/2 cup baking soda and 1/2 cup vinegar down the drain, then follow with a pot of boiling water.
- If none of these methods work, the clog may be located further down the drain pipe and you may need to call a plumber.
